Power flow diagram using Bond-Graph and Simulink

This lecture deals with the use of Bond Graphs for the simulation of the power flow by use of Simulink and introduces an add-on library for this purpose



Simulink serves as a quasi-standard for simulation and parametrization of control structures. To use it additionally for the simulation of the power flow in technical systems a customizable and easy to use add-on Simulink library with the small number of nine blocks only for the graphical programming of Bond Graphs will be introduced. The presentation explains preconditions, a first idea and its disadvantages, some basics of Bond Graphs, the Simulink Bond Graph library and summarizes most essential features of this add-on. Instructive examples demonstrate the use of this tool in the field of motion control and energy efficiency in power conversion as well as for the design of vectorial electric motor models by means of the two-reaction theory.
